DoCEIS 2024 - Technological Innovation for Human-Centric Systems

DEEC and CTS Researchers on Top of Rankings

The list, known as the “World’s Top 2% Scientists list”, is the result of a study coordinated by John Ioannidis, a professor at Stanford University. It identifies more than 100,000 influential researchers from 149 countries, in 22 scientific areas and 176 disciplines, works that accelerated the progress and productivity in their areas. In Portugal, in total, more than 700 researchers are appointed, 40 of which are from FCT NOVA.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and CTS are proud to have one more researcher in these prestigious lists, now having 4 researchers, namely, Luís M. Camarinha-Matos, Manuel D. Ortigueira, Rita A. Ribeiro and João Martins (impact throughout of the last year).

CTS is now part of consortium LASI

CTS is part of the consortium Associated Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (LASI) which recently received the status of Associated Laboratory by the Portuguese National Science Foundation, becoming the first Portuguese Associated Lab. focused on Artificial Intelligence. LASI integrates thirteen Research Units from eight Institutions geographically distributed throughout the country, namely: ALGORITMI, CISUC, CEBIT, 2Ai, LIACC, TEMA, CMUP, CTS, IPC, IEETA, UNIDEMI, CISTER, and GECAD
